One minute you have a settled life, a job, house and activities in the local community – then you meet someone, you sell up, and decide to explore around the country house and pet sitting!
Well that might not be what everyone decides, but it did to us – Annabel and I met a few years ago, and after some thought, (not too much) we sold my house in Cornwall and haven’t looked back since.
Being digital nomads, we have both managed to continue our employment, while enjoying the privilage of our circumstances by seeing various parts of the United Kingdom.
So far, we have had enjoyed a steamy beer festival in Yorkshire, Christmas in Sussex, New Year in Scotland and a breezy Easter time in Wales.
Along the way we have met some wonderful people, great pets and I hope those who follow these pages will enjoy following our journey.
Please feel free to get in contact with us, and we’ll be glad to share our experiences – of being no home, digital nomads!

Fair to say the week has been an excellent chance to relax in Cornwall and catch up with friends. From Saturday 4th May, until the Wednesday evening before we left, we have had friends and relatives join us for each evening – sharing sun, food and wine. The weather has been perfect, and taking our…

May 4th and the sun has finally come out, and is making up for the grey days that have dominated 2024 to date! This Saturday finds us driving down to Cornwall for our planned week of work and seeing friends. With the clear blue sky, we drive across Dartmoor to pick up some cakes for…

Today was about sorting out our storage, and picking up a few tools for next week in Cornwall. So Annabel and I planned for the day being taken up with the arduous task of rearranging boxes, grabbing clothes and holding our tempers as the dust, sweat and frustration of ramming a quart into a pint…

Woke today to the large thunderstorm that was sweeping the midlands – at 5 o’clock in the morning I went out of the cabin to watch and film the show. With the storm moving around the Hannington area, we felt the earth move as the thunder shock the ground and the lightning illuminated the surrounding…

A quite weekend, but a chance to catch up with relatives who live nearby. I can’t say there is much to write today, but we had a good tour through Swindon old town. It was interesting to see how the hill on the town, got eaten by the new Swindon of the railway town, the…

Swindon is a town that holds much for those interested in railway history – being the location choosen by the GWR to establish their locomtive works. Following a request by Dad to get some photographs of one of the locomotives in the Swindon Steam musuem, we decided it was a chance to catch up if…

We had planned to plan today, the first part of the plan went well, a walk to Lechlade-on-Thames from Hannington. Along a lovely set of country paths, bridleways and tracks, the walk was a little boggy, but flat after descending from the starting point by Hannington Hall. After several miles of walking along flat landscape,…

Following the Grand National day, we had a lazy wake up and took the car two miles down the road to Highworth. Having agreed with the garage that we would drop it on the Sunday, we decided to walk the two miles back along the footpaths to Hannington village – this meant crossing the route…

After a very circular path, we’ve ended back at our main sit for April and May – in the lovely Wiltshire village of Hannington, just up from the river Thames. On the way from Shaftesbury, we pause to stop at Lacock Abbey – a national trust site, which also has a great exhibition on Fox…
