Woke today to the large thunderstorm that was sweeping the midlands – at 5 o’clock in the morning I went out of the cabin to watch and film the show.
With the storm moving around the Hannington area, we felt the earth move as the thunder shock the ground and the lightning illuminated the surrounding garden and pond – with my camera at the ready I was able to film some of the storm, and will share these clips over the next few days.
With the house owners back – we spent the morning catching up and going through some of Annabel’s PA bits with them.
This meant a delayed departure, our plan had been to take a slow drive around the National Trust Chedder gorge area, and stop in a neaby B&B – sadly, we just got time to drive down the gorge and enjoy the size and scale of the limestone gorge.
We got a few photographs though the weather was very poor, as you can tell by the lack of light at 4pm in the afternoon, 2nd May – hopefully time will permit a return visit.
Our evening was spent in a lovely B&B farmhouse, near Westhay, and a pub meal in Burtle.
