One minute you have a settled life, a job, house and activities in the local community – then you meet someone, you sell up, and decide to explore around the country house and pet sitting!
Well that might not be what everyone decides, but it did to us – Annabel and I met a few years ago, and after some thought, (not too much) we sold my house in Cornwall and haven’t looked back since.
Being digital nomads, we have both managed to continue our employment, while enjoying the privilage of our circumstances by seeing various parts of the United Kingdom.
So far, we have had enjoyed a steamy beer festival in Yorkshire, Christmas in Sussex, New Year in Scotland and a breezy Easter time in Wales.
Along the way we have met some wonderful people, great pets and I hope those who follow these pages will enjoy following our journey.
Please feel free to get in contact with us, and we’ll be glad to share our experiences – of being no home, digital nomads!

First post in a while, as we’ve been mainly visiting old haunts due to circumstances around our families. However, 8th May was an opportunity for a new walk along the coast from Musselburgh to Leith, before catching a train down to North Berwick. The stretch of coastline from Musselburgh to Leith would be difficult to…

A call to do a job in Cornwall, meant an opportunity to return to a holiday cottage we had visited before over looking Talland Bay. This was a welcome chance to catch up with friends and use a wedding present to visit the Camel Valley where they produce sparkling wines. We started the main visit…

A quick catch up post. Not a lot happening on our travels at this point, apart from having a perfect house sit over looking the Firth of Forth, from the most wonderful house, with the easiest of dogs, called Crumble. This sit is a total delight, with plenty of space to work, large areas to…

Moved the parents up country, and while we waited for the keys, I had a day free, so decided to head to York Railway Museum for the day. A lot is available on line about the museum, so I don’t really need to say a lot about the visit, except that it was well worth…

A visit to the in-laws and a request to walk the dog, meant a trip to Hume castle, which also meant an excuse to walk to Hume castle, when I say walk, from the carpark up to the gate. This is a great castle to visit for the panaromic views of the area, and even…

Following our holiday we had my brother’s wedding weekend, and a few days around Durham rushing the Christmas shopping before we headed north to our next dog sit, and the location we’ll be in for the season. We’ve returned to North Berwick and a house right by the sea, our dog – lovely Stan, who…

No dogs, no cats, no snakes, no home – we have a week off, and the handy thing about Annabel being a travel agent, it wasn’t difficult to find somewhere hot to go and take some rest/honeymoon. Marrakesh was the chosen destination, so we left Greenlaw, (we’d stopped with relatives) and caught the aircraft at…

Stag do to Liverpool for my brother’s wedding, and a chance to visit three National Trust houses. One, which was the amazing Speke Hall, just outside the city and was also the pick up point for the minibus drive to John and Paul’s childhood homes. Speke hall is a wonderful Tudor period home, which speaks…

We had a lovely week and a bit in Holyhead, well Trearddur Bay was where we were based. We’ve been here before, and we are more than glad to come back and enjoy the scenery, the residents and the wonderful pets we look after. As we’ve been here before, we spent most of the time…

Well I never thought I would visit this railway station, but thanks to a problem with the car, and the garage changing it’s mind on whether the car was safe to drive or not, I ended up catching a train from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch to Bangor, which also meant a trip over the Britannia Bridge, something, which…
