Today was about sorting out our storage, and picking up a few tools for next week in Cornwall.
So Annabel and I planned for the day being taken up with the arduous task of rearranging boxes, grabbing clothes and holding our tempers as the dust, sweat and frustration of ramming a quart into a pint pot dragged out hour after hour – we arrived about 10 – 10:30 the task was complete 🙂 so new plan.
As we’d found the sun – we decided to head to Exmouth for a couple of hours before going to our night lodgings in Topsham.
Exmouth by the beach for some work and a stroll was perfect – the beach is wide and sandy, with a dog friendly zone and ample parking. We enjoyed a quick coffee and also got our 10,000 steps in for the day!
We then had a quick tour around the ancient quay of Topsham – a lovely little town just outside Exeter – the area has some very quaint buildings and a good antiques store – worth a hour if you are in the area.
Tonight – Annabel wants to hit the Exeter nightlife….!
At nearly 50, our night outs consist of a walk into the centre of the city of Exeter – trying a few local ales, we didn’t get on with – a meal in a local restaurant and then a return walk back to our bed for 10pm! However we did have a good evening, and managed to enjoy some of the architecture around Exeter Cathedral.
