One minute you have a settled life, a job, house and activities in the local community – then you meet someone, you sell up, and decide to explore around the country house and pet sitting!
Well that might not be what everyone decides, but it did to us – Annabel and I met a few years ago, and after some thought, (not too much) we sold my house in Cornwall and haven’t looked back since.
Being digital nomads, we have both managed to continue our employment, while enjoying the privilage of our circumstances by seeing various parts of the United Kingdom.
So far, we have had enjoyed a steamy beer festival in Yorkshire, Christmas in Sussex, New Year in Scotland and a breezy Easter time in Wales.
Along the way we have met some wonderful people, great pets and I hope those who follow these pages will enjoy following our journey.
Please feel free to get in contact with us, and we’ll be glad to share our experiences – of being no home, digital nomads!

Tuesday, we packed up once more our belongings, and headed up the A38 towards our next stop – an evening in the New Forest to recover some items we had left behind during our last visit in August. After a couple of slices of spiced apple cake for breakfast, we hit the road in good…

Well, the first of my school friends turned 50 today – it was unaudiable, but I think all of us who had grown up together were thinking, ‘blimey!’ Morning was a relaxed affair, before lunch at the Port Eliot cafe, The Stables (a cafe also used in Beyond Paradise) – the evening a few drinks…

Sunday, a lovely mea with my parents, and a game of cards in the afternoon. Our evening was a move to a new host, the birthday boy, and we have a lovely meal and a relaxed evening – Christmas is coming – Where Eagles Dare was the film.

Well almost. Saturday found us having a peaceful morning in the house we are staying at. Annabel had her hair done, while I caught up on some work. In the afternoon we returned to the beer festiva to catch up with some other friends, who couldn’t make the Friday. The evening was spent with out…

The next few days of our travels have been around familiar stomping grounds, as we visited Liskeard for my friend’s 50th birthday. I will keep the posts brief. After a morning of work, and haircuts, we had lunch with at Golitha Falls, a well known local beauty spot near Liskeard. Sitting by the river Fowey,…

We woke and decided to have breakfast on the shore in Plymouth Barbican – thining this would give us a breather after our journey to sort things out – sadly we hadn’t counted on winter having arrived with vengeance. Freezing wind bighting around the car as we got out to head for some food, all…

Our car had shown an engine management issue since we landed in Normandy – combined with a knocking noise from the engine – the online advice is to stop at the earliest opportunity to rectify the situation. Being in France, with a schedule, stopping has not been practical – and on the basis the light…

We have spent today exploring the beautiful city of Dinan, with its well preserved city walls, castle buildings, medieval houses, cobbled streets and attractive river front. Searching for breakfast, and fitting in work around our explorations, proved the most difficult part of the day. After catching up with emails and customers in the morning, we…

Whatever I write about today’s visit to the Bayeux Tapestry would not do it justice. The pure imagery, colour and vibrance of the 70m narrative embroidery is something hard to convey in words; the skill, (and dare I say subtle humour) of the nuns who worked on the tapestry is worth more than the half…

How many scallop shells does it take to make a beach? This was my first thought on our return to Port En Bessin in the day-light. I have no idea how deep the beach of shells is, but I can guess it takes a lot of scallops to generate such an impressive and captivating mound…
