One minute you have a settled life, a job, house and activities in the local community – then you meet someone, you sell up, and decide to explore around the country house and pet sitting!
Well that might not be what everyone decides, but it did to us – Annabel and I met a few years ago, and after some thought, (not too much) we sold my house in Cornwall and haven’t looked back since.
Being digital nomads, we have both managed to continue our employment, while enjoying the privilage of our circumstances by seeing various parts of the United Kingdom.
So far, we have had enjoyed a steamy beer festival in Yorkshire, Christmas in Sussex, New Year in Scotland and a breezy Easter time in Wales.
Along the way we have met some wonderful people, great pets and I hope those who follow these pages will enjoy following our journey.
Please feel free to get in contact with us, and we’ll be glad to share our experiences – of being no home, digital nomads!

Well the two weeks of our latest sit are almost up, which gives me a chance to update the blog, following a whirlwind few months, which has included a marriage, some fowl/foul play, trips up and down the country and some lovely dog and small holding sits. I’ll cover the recent sit in this blog,…

A short post for this one, but none the less it has been a good day with a drive across to St Andrews and then up the coast to the mouth of the river Tay and oddly enough, the port called Tayport. From Tayport we went along the road that hunged the south bank of…

Everyone says how tiring weddings are, but we didn’t notice it – until we got away after the big day. We woke up to a very slow breakfast and a chat with our hosts, before heading up the road towards Cawdor Castle. I think it was at this point the exhaustation of the past few…

A beautiful, manic, fun, friendly, relaxing, weekend comes to an end, with some panicked goodbye’s. Storm Floris is about to make landfall and an amber weather warning has come into place, which the press is dramatizing to the point where it is apparent the world is unlikely to survive until tomorrow. Trains in Scotland are…

We woke up in the Dunmuir Hotel feeling very relaxed and content after all the joy of yesterday. In complete contrast to yesterday morning, I enjoyed a full breakfast with a stomach that was in tune with my appetite. Today, Annabel and I had planned to host all of our wedding guests on Skateraw beach…

It’s true what they say, wedding days rush up on you. From the original proposal to the actual day, it’s cliche to say the last year has flown by; where has the time has gone?! I awake feeling a little/lot nervous, not helped by my bank card being put on hold, (unusual activity). I join…

Friday and I think both the hen and stag parties wake a little the worse. Everyone though has had a great time, and more importantly returned intact. Annabel and I wonder down the Harbour Chapel for our rehearsal, and then it is time for me to take the parents out, so they can see a…

We arrive in Dunbar on the Monday focused on our preparations for the big weekend. With everything planned, but at times feeling like nothing is organised we check into the Dolphin Hostel, which is a wonderful place to stay in Dunbar, with relaxed rooms, shared kitchen and enjoyable surrounds. Starting off the week by catching…

After a tough two weeks lazing by a pool in Petersfield, it is time for another pre-wedding event. This time a catch-up with my younger brother who has come up to Edinburgh for a few drinks before the big day. Meeting at the railway station we walk to the National museum of Scotland, so we…

A friend from our 2CV trip to Tours has been let down by her house sitter. It’s a long way from Scotland to Petersfield in Hampshire, but I agree to go and sit with Beetle, who sadly has broken his leg. A most beautiful two weeks in a small village just outside Petersfield. Having thought…
