For this post we are back around Appin sitting some dogs and a cat for two relatives. Unlike last time we were here, this is much more about work and looking after the animals, however that has not stopped us from using the sunny weather and down time to enjoy ourselves.
During the two weeks at Appin, we have managed to get out on Loch Creran using a small dinghy, which gave us the opportunity to have picnic lunches on the other side of the loch to where we were staying.
In edition we drove up the A82 through Glencoe.
Over the last few years, we have had the privilege to visit and drive a lot of roads around the United Kingdom. From Cornwall, The New Forest, Yorkshire and Wales, we’ve been spoilt by fantastic scenery, but there are few journeys that can compete with the ascent from Glencoe to the Three Sisters Viewpoints around Altnafeadh. For panoramic awe inspiring beauty, this road has to be one near the top of the list for the country. A thousand photographs would never capture the impact of seeing this area of Scotland, and it is one of the reasons why our pet sitting adventures have been so impactful on our lives.
Along with a few walks in the woods, and some down time swimming and exploring the foreshore around the house, this has to be one of the best, easiest and most memorable of house sits.
Hermit grabs, seals, oysters, and shell collecting, Loch Creran has spoilt us with nature and amazing hot blue sky weather.
It is going to be difficult to head south, after such a perfect time.
