A tale of three bridges

Woke up with plans to work, as the weather forecast was for ‘rubbish’, however, it turned out to be baking hot and bright blue sky!

So, we decided off the cuff, to catch a train to North Queensferry, and walk across the old road bridge to South Queensferry.

Once more, we couldn’t have timed the trip better, just t-shirt and shorts, the weather was perfect for a pleasant stroll, with minimal wind and fantastic clear views up and down the forth.

Wondering down to the North Queensferry view point, we sadly found the pub closed, (I had hoped for a half on the north and south side) but the view of the rail bridge was amazing.

Venturing up the hill and the steps to the old road bridge, we took a slow amble along the East side walkway, which provided the best view of the rail bridge. I estimate our slow steps, and frequent pauses for photographs meant we took an hour to cross, before wondering down to South Queensferry, where the high-street was alive, and a pub was open! A relaxing half, and then the train home to let our two dogs out for an afternoon in the sun, (though they spent most of it asleep)!
