Weather done us proud again, so once more a change to the wet plans we had, and a trip out, up the Fourth to two National Trust for Scotland sites, Culross and then to the Dunmore Pineapple!
Culross is a town trapped in time, with cobbled streets and a 17th Palace, built for a local merchant Sir George Bruce. We didn’t go inside the house this time, as we felt it would be better to get membership when we moved up, and visit the site then. However, we did climb the steep hill up to the Abbey, and found out about the moat pit, built just off the pier. A lovely town to see, and probably the best time to go, with a total lack of crowds.
Dunmore Pineapple was a drive to say we’ve been. A road of potholes led us to the garden of the house, and a quick photo was enough to suffice. Rumour has it, that a pineapple in your house is a sign that you are a swinger – not sure what to make of this one!
