We found it – heaven – a shop dedicated to the retail of gin and chocolate.
We have ended up in Farnham to purchase some bits for the car, and collect some items for the owners of the house we are staying at.
Farnham is a typical Surrey town on the main road south from London.
A congested high-street weaves its way around historic, decorative and stylish buildings. An active shopping front – we found ourselves in a lovely bookshop with cafe, called The Blue Bear. We sat and enjoyed a rich hot-cchocolate and tiramisu slice, while gazing at the various books and games on display.
Our evening was a trip to the cinema with the next door neighbours, the film of choice Napoleon – worth a watch, though difficult not raise an eyebrow over the way some of the history has been portrayed.
