Annabel POV – the day was a whirlwind of cleaning, folding clothes, and, (following our three week stay) locating the various discarded items from around the house – charging cables, watches, books, glasses, food, et cetera.
We packed our bags and tried to see what else we could trim down from the car, by preparing more items for the storage glory hole, which we can visit on our way back from Cornwall in early December.
Choosing a farewell supper – we went for prawn stir-fry – one more shopping trip to Petersfield. Picked up a book club book for a friend and popped a parcel of material in the post – destined to become a quilt, but not by me on this occasion.
The big dog received copious walks from David as compensation of our imminent departure. Owners and dog will miss us in equal measure – and us them of course. However, our continued adventures call, and the ferry leaves at 8am.
So the evening was wrapped up with packing the car in plummeting temperatures under the stary sky. Ready for our 6am departure. France here we come.
David POV – on the previous day, we had seen the army training on the ground near the Warren just opposite where we were staying. So, I walked the lab up to the field to see if I could observe one of our ‘lesser spotted tanks’ in the wild.
Sadly, I didn’t see anything, apart from a few lorries dispersed into their camp locations.
Rest of the day spent not getting under feet, as Annabel packed.
