I’ve been trying to get this post online for a bit, to catch up on one of our detour and tour days. Coming towards the end of our Winchester sit, and we have to make a circuitous trip to Cornwall to sort out our storage and pick up some bits to take north.
We begin the day early by heading off to Swindon to drop off a 4G router at a farm, before driving down to Shaftesbury to spend the night with a friend.
On the way, we take the opportunity to tour the National trust site Avebury, and wander around the stone circles.
You can only really grasp the size of these ancient structures by visiting, and it is extraordinary to ponder what their purpose was, how they were build and the time taken to complete them.
From the stone circles we traveled to our friend, for a sauna and some wine. Great day.
