A slow drive back to Winchester, we followed the A1M and Satnav, until a route diversion led us off the main roads and along some lovely countryside. We sort of knew where we were, but it wasn’t until we spotted a lovely pub by a river that we pulled in for a much needed Sunday roast.
The Red Lion in Hunningham, near Leamington Spa was our stop, and we both enjoyed the lamb and beef that was brought out.
A grinding noise in the rear wheel made my heart sink, as I feared a spot of David mechanics! Thankfully it turned out to be a small stone trapped in the brake drum, which I quickly removed.
Back to Winchester by 4pm, and after a quick unpack, we were back into working mode, before having a quick walk around the city to enjoy the bank holiday sunshine.
