Following our, or I should say more my intention, to avoid service stations on long journeys, we found a lovely National Trust property to stop at on our journey north from Edlesborough, (where we had stopped with friends on Friday night).
Biddulph Grange, we found to be an interesting Victorian house, with some very niche / eclectic ideas on styles for a garden. We both enjoyed a lunch break from the journey, and it was worth visiting a location we probably wouldn’t have stopped at otherwise.
An easy drive north over the hills around Derby, and great weather until we hit the Cumbrian rain on the M6. Peaceful, relaxing evening on the wine and whiskey.
