Okay, I know, I know – it’s been a while, too long in fact!
Simple reason, we’ve been running up and down the country seeing things, and we have a few things to report since October.
I will start by saying our sits are now longer in one location, which makes daily updates a little less interesting, unless you like reading about how we wake up, do some work and go to bed.
However, when not on a working day, we are out and about exploring the country, which is still as exicting as ever.
Since the last post we have had some long sits in Woking, North Berwich and we are now in Winchester until late March.
Long sits are great in terms of getting to know an area, and being able to concentrate on work. It is work that is taking a major focus, as we start talk about ‘growing up’, and buying a house again. However, as we continue to look for somewhere suitable to anchor our feet, let me bring you up to date with our adventures. First a summary of our travels since the 25th October 2024, (where did that time go)?! Short story, we’ve been south, north, south, north and south – short story long, read below?!
- October, we sat Jolly in Woking, (fun, full of laughs) and a twisted ankle!
- North Berwick, to look after a lovely lab. Great sit, though boy does the wind find you there!
- Down to Oakhanger to look after a lovely Staffi called Stan in a remote house at the end of a remote lane, dark, beautiful, and quite.
- Then a drive north to look after a cat, a terrier and a golden retriever near Gullane, (just west of North Berwick). Wind, ice, castles, snow, great family laughs, icy swim, and two lovely hounds and a rather put-out cat, (who apparently left presents in the bath for his owner, some cat’s don’t like being out of the family holiday)!
- A short split early January, as I headed down to Winchester, stopping at a beautiful hotel, The Angel and Royal in Grantham on the way. The hotel was fantastic, the town, (where Newton apparently went to college) looking sadly like so many others around the country.
- Annabel arrived in Winchester a few days after me. I did a quick trip to Cornwall, staying at the Jamica Inn, (no ghosts sadly).
- Now we are both in Winchester, catching up friends and learning the local area!
A few photographs of our places, I promise to write a little more about each location over the next few days. Oh, I made the Christmas cake, and we had a two day stay near Andover.
