Leaving Burley in the morning, we headed to Lyndhurst for a look around the largest town in the New Forest. We had been warned about the one-way system in the town, and I was glad we visited in early December – summer months can surely see gridlock on the town streets and – indeed – the lanes around the area.
We both liked the town, with its Ferrari dealership a surprise – clearly aware we were visiting, the dealership had kindly placed one of the £300,000 cars under the Christmas tree for us!
A light breakfast, a tour of the heritage centre, which is certainly worth a half hour visit.
Leaving Lyndhurst, we headed through the forest, in the general direction of Alton and Oakhanger – where we are once more stopping, until our next dog sit starts on Monday.
