We woke up in the Dunmuir Hotel feeling very relaxed and content after all the joy of yesterday. In complete contrast to yesterday morning, I enjoyed a full breakfast with a stomach that was in tune with my appetite.
Today, Annabel and I had planned to host all of our wedding guests on Skateraw beach for a ‘relax and chill’ bbq before everyone departed. A few drops of rain over Dunbar quickly cleared and the warmth, blue-sky and sun, which had graced us for the weekend returned, so by the time everyone got to the beach, it was sun-cream and swimming trunks to the fore.
A huge thanks for the family for taking on the role of chef, I must admit I was knackered, and all our guests enjoyed the full fun of Skateraw, with some staying on to swim in the lobster pool.
It was a huge success the bbq, and though some of our guests had to start making their way home, it was a day of great fun, enjoyable walks and brief spells in the sea.
In the evening, with the little ones explaining how they were, ‘hungry’ the few remaining guests ventured to Dunbar harbour and the Lobster Shack, which serves courageous battered fish fingers in rolls, with some well cooked chips. With the sun going down, the sky hinting at the forecast storm tomorrow, it was a perfect way to bring our wedding weekend to a close.
