We had driven just behind Storm Babet on the way north, but at Houghton-Le-Spring we were well and truly in her skirt tails.
Rain and high-winds meant my planned trip to Beamish was off, due to a power cut, and instead Annabel and I found ourselves making the most of the time working for various customers.
In all honesty, this suited us well.
Our hosts returned from their work in local hospitals, and we quickly turned the evening into one of games, inparticular 6 Nimmit.
If you haven’t played it – I recommend it – its a game that has something for everyone, the tactical, the lucky, the unlucky, the frustration and satisfaction.
